national hunger & homelessness awareness week
National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program that takes place the week before Thanksgiving to bring attention to the issues of hunger and homelessness in the United States. The week’s goals are to educate the public, highlight poverty, and build a support base for local anti-poverty organizations.
November 17th – November 23rd
for our guests
During National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, Broad Street Love will host a week-long kitchen takeover, inviting local chefs to run the kitchen and dining room for the nonprofit’s daily lunch service. This event provides a unique opportunity for these chefs to collaborate with BSL’s in-house culinary team to serve over 400 guests each day for a sit-down lunch.
Make a Difference – Volunteer
Volunteers are essential to the work we do at Broad Street Love. Each day, 25-40 volunteers work as an extension of our staff to keep operations running smoothly. They are the driving force behind our programs, providing life-changing services and building meaningful relationships.
Every day, volunteers help Broad Street Love provide stabilizing social services to our guests — not just serving meals or sorting mail, but bringing the warmth of human connection to those who need it most.
provide radical hospitality
Our lunch service is the foundation of everything we do at Broad Street Love. It is available to anyone who walks through our doors, from those experiencing chronic homelessness to individuals that may need the support of a free meal. The Radical Hospitality we bring to our meal service is integral to gaining the trust of new guests and fostering a sense of community. By sponsoring a meal, you help us keep this important service going.
become a sustaining donor
Your monthly sustaining gift embodies the love of Radical Hospitality by providing restaurant-style meals, mail service, clothing and personal care items, concierge case management, spiritual support services, and so much more.

Homelessness Bias-Busters
Bombas has put together a list of frequently asked questions about homelessness with the help of their Giving Partners, organizations who help get socks to those in need, like Broad Street Love. Our hope is that these questions can help address curiosities, unpack preconceived notions, and start important, sometimes uncomfortable conversations about homelessness with our friends and families.
