Broad Street Ministry Unveils New Name, Broad Street Love

The renewed brand identity reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to creating connection and community through the practice of Radical Hospitality.

May 14, 2024 (Philadelphia, PA) Broad Street Ministry, the Philadelphia nonprofit committed to serving their neighbors in need through empathy, care, and the ongoing practice of Radical Hospitality, today unveiled their new brand identity, Broad Street Love.

The name Broad Street Love reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to creating connection and community through Radical Hospitality. While the new name ushers in a new era for the organization, the mission, social service offerings, and commitment to the community will remain unchanged.

“Love is at the heart of Radical Hospitality; now it is also at the heart of our name,” said Laure Biron, CEO of Broad Street Love. “It is my hope that this new name reflects the care we have for our community and our commitment to continue to provide an open, welcome, safe, and loving space for our guests every week.”

The Chair of Broad Street Love’s Board of Directors, Shahrukh Tarapore, continued, “For nearly 20 years, Broad Street Love has worked to cultivate an environment of love and care through our incredible network of guests, volunteers, staff, partners, and donors. After embarking on a strategic planning process and comprehensive brand analysis, we determined that it was important that love and care be reflected in our name.”

Fueled by the strategic discovery process, the brand evolution was spearheaded by Agency M, a local full-service advertising firm.

Broad Street Love announced their new name and brand identity Tuesday during a press conference at their home on South Broad Street. Longtime supporters, board members, and elected officials including Representative Ben Waxman and Councilman Squilla were present to reflect on the organization’s humble beginnings and share a future vision of Radical Hospitality.

Since 2005, Broad Street Love has served their community by providing a daily meal, mail service, concierge case management including reentry and pre-entry support, personal care products, clothing, and more. The organization will continue to provide these stabilizing services to any individuals in need.
