Broad Street Love Celebrates 20 Years at 2025 “be our guest” Gala
On the evening of May 15, 2025, Broad Street Love hosted one of our most successful Be Our Guest Galas to date. More than 200 supporters gathered in the sanctuary dining room of our historic building at 315 S Broad Street to celebrate our 20th anniversary and raise over $200,000 in support of our mission of Radical Hospitality for Philadelphia’s most vulnerable neighbors.
The evening honored two decades of community-driven work rooted in dignity, compassion, and connection. Guests enjoyed a vibrant program featuring powerful storytelling, a lively auction, and refreshments from Philadelphia’s most beloved chefs and purveyors. Guest Chef Tyler Akin prepared braised chicken agrodolce and roasted shiitake mushroom over saffron risotto using fresh ingredients from Carversville Farm Foundation.
The program opened with a welcome from Chief Advancement Officer Kate Fox, who reflected on the spirit of Radical Hospitality that defines both our daily services and our extended community. Board Chair Shahrukh Tarapore offered warm remarks that introduced this year’s mission video. The video features volunteers and guests sharing testimonials illustrating how Radical Hospitality changes lives on both sides of the table.
CEO Laure Biron offered closing remarks that reflected on Broad Street Love’s legacy and the road ahead. “The funds raised tonight will help us provide thousands more meals, wraparound supports, and moments of connection for our unhoused and food-insecure neighbors,” said Biron. “But even more than that, this evening reminded us all of the power of love, shared purpose, and belonging.”
