Every weekday, the Sanctuary Dining Room at Broad Street Love transforms into a restaurant-style dining space where guests are served with warmth, respect, and care. Since 2008, this meal has been at the heart of our mission—offering not just nourishment, but dignity and connection. With an average of 300 guests at each meal, this experience is made possible by the dedication of our volunteers.
what to expect
As a Meal Service Volunteer, you’ll help create a welcoming, restaurant-style experience for every guest. All volunteers begin the day with an orientation.
Depending on the day’s needs, you may:
- Greet guests and serve meals with care
- Bus tables and refresh settings to keep the dining room running smoothly
- Help with cleanup after service so the space is ready for the next day
Through your hospitality and presence, you’ll help ensure every guest feels seen, respected, and celebrated.

We are looking for individuals who are:
- 16 years or older
- Able to stand and move comfortably for several hours
- Warm, friendly, and flexible
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a team
All volunteers must sign up through our volunteer calendar. If you have a group, have received services at Broad Street Love in the past 6 months, or need to complete community service hours for school, externship, or court-mandated hours, please contact us before signing up.
