December 10th, 2024 (Philadelphia, PA) – Choir Of Philadelphians Facing Deep Poverty Unite Though Song At “Season of Love” Concert. As part of the first  Harmonious Communities initiative from Opera Philadelphia and Broad Street Love, a choir of more than 30 local people – many of whom are new to singing – experiencing deep poverty perform a program of holiday favorites alongside songs like Billy Joel’s “Piano Man” and “Seasons of Love” from Rent. The concert concludes an innovative program that ran from August to December 2024, offering participants compensation and a weekly space to learn and explore vocal and choral music alongside the Opera’s teaching    artists, providing not just an artistic outlet but also a supportive, creative environment for personal expression.
